Hey guys and gals- Happy April and, more importantly, Happy Friday!! We’re off to a quiz tonight so, hit me with some trivia to give us a fighting chance!!
Anyway; I’m not going to bang on this week about how I can’t believe it’s another Friday already. Instead I’m going to remind you all that, as life is racing by at an ever quickening pace, to grasp the nettle, seize the day and do something fun (one you’ve finished reading this!) what do you fancy? Anyway, enough of the small talk…here’s my low down of the week;

Read: I know that, as I write a blog, I should be championing the virtual world and all the brilliant writing you can find online and I often do but, nothing quite replaces the opportunity to have a flick through a real life magazine. This month I bought RED Magazine; £2- you can’t turn that down! Safer to read that in the bath than risk nodding off and dropping the Ipad…eeek. Topics include; the importance of a good old snog, a happy divorce (which you shouldn’t need if you do the first one properly) and some beautiful, beautiful shoes.
Red Magazine

Ah the good old days of a real life magazine!

Watched: On Saturday Mr L and I took the littlies to visit my Grandma to celebrate her 93rd birthday. She has always been a very active lady and, for her 90th birthday we were able to tell her we were expecting her very first great grandchild which was wonderful. Since that time though, her age has slightly caught up with her and she is now in a care home nursing a broken leg and dementia. I geared myself up for an emotional day but, when we arrived I was over the moon to see her looking so gorgeous. She was dressed in a suit, smiling her head off and surrounded by flowers, cards and presents.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xKv1cXZihM
She was thrilled to see the girls and, aside from a few comments seemed really on the ball. It was really fab. Grandma used to be a nursery school teacher and then took the Sunday school at the church where our Grandpa was a vicar and, seeing her with the girls I see that it hasn’t left her. I will treasure this for a long long time and I hope the girls are able to remember this day in years to come.
Heard: This week Mr L and I have been to the girls ‘parents evening’ at their lovely nursery. Pre-children I would have considered this absolutely ridiculous and simply a tool to massage parents egos about how amazing their offspring are.
Having now been to two I can confidently inform you that they are an essential tool in informing your childs learning journey and building a relationship between home and nursery. The reason I feel like this is because they both got glowing reports!…If they had been anything other I would be dismissing it as WAYYYYY to early to tell! They said the big little was extremely kind and caring and took time to make sure everyone was involved in any games and the little little was loving joining in with songs and basically toddling around like she owns the place! I love their nursery. It is weeny, independent and very caring.
Worn: I have worn two seriously contrasting outfits this week! One, a hot pants and tee-shirt combo with some fierce heels for a night on the tiles with my mates. Don’t know what came over me to be honest! And the second, a very serious business dress for a launch event at Buckingham Palace. Quite a departure from my usual black leggings, black vest and sick stained top! It was a pleasant change! Obviously, I wouldn’t be me if there wasn’t at least one wardrobe malfunction…cue me taking off my shoes after a long day in London to find the following…

Made: Almost every, single week I struggle with this heading and I have to bend the rules to crowbar something in so- as ever, this week I’m talking about a big decision that I’ve made! see what I did there?! Read about it here… (it’s about the Big Apple!)
And another thing: Well, my lovely friends, I was not shortlisted for the MAD Blog awards. Sad times indeed. All is not lost however as the nominations are now open for the Brilliance in Blogging Awards (close on 12th April) so, if you want, you could always put me forward for that one…oh, look, here’s the form– that’s handy! If you do fancy that, you’ll need to know the following stuff:
Blog URL: http://mummetamorphosis.wordpress.com/
Twitter Handle: @MumaLeary
Email: if you don’t know it, it doesn’t matter!

I reckon I fit best into the Fresh Voice, Family or Laugh category but you can nominate me wherever you wish, I ain’t picky!

So, that’s it for another week. Will you be watching The National or is it not your thing? In our house it’s a big deal. I’m off to check out the runners and riders.
Loads of Love,

    I never read my iPad in the bath for the very same reason, I can just see myself dropping it in the bath. Much safer with a magazine or book.
    The stickers on shoes did make me laugh! x
